Salary: Main Pay Scale 1 to Upper Pay Scale 3 plus SEN allowance (£2,539), actual salary £32,539 - £49,064; Unqualified Teacher Pay Scale 1 – 6 plus SEN allowance, actual salary £23,137 - £34,673

Oak Learning Partnership, on behalf of Elms Bank School and College, are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate Teacher/Instructor to join our Discover Pathway on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. You will join a welcoming team of professionals and you will be part of an excellent team and provided with extensive support that will enable you to develop to your full potential both in this role and beyond.

The Discover Pathway is tailored to the needs of our pupils whose main barrier to learning is complex learning difficulties with autism, sensory processing disorder and/or present challenging behaviours due to their learning barrier. Many students within this pathway have additional complexities which can include specific learning difficulties, moderate, severe, or profound learning difficulties, and physical difficulties. Learning styles include formal learning, semi formal and sensory learning. 

This post is particularly suitable for a teacher who has experience of teaching and working with pupils below National Curriculum Level 4.  Teachers would be expected to demonstrate that they are competent in using a range of strategies to teach and to engage and develop pupils’ understanding to ensure that they reach their full potential.

Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs in a mainstream or a SEND setting is essential. We are looking for an outstanding teacher who will demonstrate a high level of commitment to our students.

•      Be able to inspire confidence in meeting the needs of our pupils.

•      Be highly motivated and will contribute to team working and team building.

•      Be able to take advantage of the professional learning opportunities we can offer.

•      Be able to teach outstanding lessons.

This role is suited to an effective primary school teacher or SEND specialist and will involve teaching semi-formal and formal learners across the school. Teachers will be expected to demonstrate their ability to be an effective pastoral form teacher who will communicate with families to develop pupil wellbeing.
